El Yeso Reservoir
Stunning scenery formed by turquoise waters and imposing mountains in the background!
An incomparable setting with mountains always covered in a blanket of snow. It's the perfect backdrop to immortalize the moment with a beautiful photograph.
Upon reaching the mountain range, we will stop in San José de Maipo for breakfast and to gather strength so that we can comfortably climb the demanding 700-meter walk that takes us to the viewpoint from where we will contemplate the sky reflected in the waters of the reservoir.
Next, we'll head to Salto el Yeso, a 15-meter waterfall with a safe viewing area. We'll rest here, and if you'd like, you can have your own picnic.
Later we will visit the Tinoco tunnel, built in 1906, through which a small railway traveled that connected the high bridge with the mining town of El Volcán.
We will sweeten our excursion with a visit to the original ice cream parlor and chocolate shop La Casa de Chocolate, which stands out for its exquisite artisanal flavors and the architecture and sculptures that adorn its terrace and gardens.
Colina Valley Hot Springs
We will continue our journey along the Volcano Route. We begin by traveling along a dirt road that starts in San Gabriel, 14 km before reaching the thermal center. A secluded, majestic, and quiet place at the foot of the Andes Mountains, where you will experience the highly mineralized natural waters of magmatic origin, which come from the depths of the San José volcano and have a number of healing properties, all housed in the Valle de Colina hot springs.
The temperatures of these magical hot springs range from 25 degrees Celsius in the lower pools to 55 degrees Celsius in the highest. Furthermore, it is surrounded by a stunning mountain landscape, offering majestic views of the Andes Mountains.
You can immerse yourself and relax in the thermal waters of this wonderful place. This outing allows you to open your mind and heart to new experiences; it's about discovering that the world is as vast as your dreams and as uncertain as your capacity to explore it.
