In this adventure we will get to know the Cajón del Maipo, the inhabited heart of the Andes Mountains and part of San José de Maipo; the commune that houses this rural and natural sector of the Metropolitan Region.
We will make several tourist stops before arriving at the National Reserve El Yeso Reservoir, a natural lagoon located at 2,500 meters above sea level and which enchants with the color of its waters, varying between emerald green and turquoise, accompanied by the mountains of the mountain range that border the area.
The reservoir is over 50 meters deep, 6 kilometers long, and 1.5 kilometers wide. After 10 years of construction on a natural lake, this lagoon is now the main source of drinking water for Santiago and the agricultural areas of the region.
